Syphilis: An Age Old Disease

Syphilis is a common and well known sexually transmitted disease (STD). Sexual intercourse is one of the most common ways to contract it. There are some historic figures that have suffered from syphilis, including Pope Alexander VI, Christopher Columbus, King Henry VIII and five of his wives, Francis I of France, Ivan the Terrible, Queen Elizabeth I, King Edward VI, Napoleon I of France, Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Darwin, Abraham Lincoln, Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Al Capone. Syphilis dates a long way back. Known to many as “Syphilis – The Great Imitator”, Syphilis has a multitude of presentations which makes it difficult to diagnose. It is passed from person to person with skin to skin contact, with the chancre, or Syphilis sore. Sores occur mainly on the external genitals, vagina, anus, or in the rectum. Sores also can occur on the lips and in the mouth.

Syphilis is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. As reported by the CDC: Health Officials reported over 36,000 cases of syphilis in 2006 and was highest in women 20 to 24 years of age and in men 35 to 39 years of age. Sadly, syphilis can take the life of its victims if it is left untreated. It can also result in damage to the heart, brain, and nerves. There is an open sore which can either be found internally or externally and is usually on the genitals.  If the disease isn’t treated at this stage, it can progress and can cause fever, hair loss, swollen glands, a sore throat and a rash. If it goes untreated for a longer period of time, the severe consequences of Syphilis can be dementia, blindness and permanent problems with the nervous system.

“The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment” Tuskegee University:  Written by: Borgna Brunner

“…For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis. These men, for the most part illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama, were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Informed that they were being treated for “bad blood,” their doctors had no intention of curing them of syphilis at all.” Read more…

The history of Syphilis is a long one, but nothing compares to the ethical debacle as the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. Which is the prelude to many ethical dilemmas in medicine today. However, Syphilis then as it is now, poses many challenges. The spread of the disease is far faster and easier than ever before. With women and men being promiscuous, and unashamed, the disease has been kept alive for centuries. Out of which, how many have lost their minds, or lives, unknowing? People today, can learn a lot from those good old days, and keep themselves safe and disease free, with some vigilance, and due diligence, you too can keep from contracting or passing this deadly infectious disease on.

Pregnant women who have the disease, can pass the disease onto their unborn child via the placenta, and if it isn’t treated right away, then the mother is at a higher risk of stillborn, pre-term birth and other complications, or an infant that dies shortly after birth.  Be prudent, and protect yourself from contracting disease.  If everyone did their part, most of these diseases could be eradicated, but until people make better decisions with whom they partner with sexually, it appears that Syphilis, and other STD’s will continue their legacy.

An Answer To Cancer~ “Knockout” Part I

Filed under: Uncategorized — viralnurse @ 7:01 am
Tags: , , ,

I  began reading a fabulous book about Cancer struggle and survival.  I personally have not had cancer, but know those that have.  Work with those that have or had, and realize that anyone can have cancer.  I think we all carry cancer in small amounts, just not in detectable levels for blood tests to notice.  It’s when we start to have symptoms, that things have gone too far.

The book is called “Knockout” by Suzanne Sommers  http://www.suzannesomers.com/Knockout/.  It’s heartfelt, and dedicated to many people that she knew, that didn’t survive cancer.  She interviews tons of famous doctors of internal medicine, neurology, oncology,  and surgeons.  The interviews are very informative as if the doctors are writing their own essays.  Surprising information, research, and enlightenment.  Shocking revelations, as well as experiences that Suzanne shares from her own crisis “on recurrence”  it sheds light on the current systems in place in our healthcare, and judicial system.  It is all encompassing, and thoroughly researched.  I’m just finishing it up, but wanted to take a minute to share what I have noted, to be one absolutely fabulous book on the matter of cancer, cancer treatments, new methods of treating cancer, and stories of cancer survivors.

Cancer isn’t the death sentence it once was labeled being.  I have tons of friends that are survivors, and continue their everyday lives as if nothing so devastating had ever occurred.  They work double shifts, and full-time, and keep in line with life’s daily tasks.  It amazes me to see the complete recovery from the disease of cancer.  Not only does it amaze me, but it thrills me to be witness to so many people that have lived to tell.  I continue to applaud their stoicism.

Cancer interfering with or ending people’s lives, compelled me to learn more about how our body’s cells turn on us.  As a nurse, writer, and researcher, it fits.  I know about the different theories that have been speculated and some proven to have caused cancer, such as the lifestyle factors, genetics, and environment.  I wish we could trace everyones history to do a playback to see how the dots connect.  I know researchers try earnestly to find the answer to cancer.  I know they say smoking causes cancer, just not in everyone.  Then what about those that get lung cancer that didn’t smoke a day in their life?  How then, do  people get cancer of the lung if they do not smoke?  We could say it’s from the pollution, genetics, chronic bronchitis, frequent upper respiratory(anything that causes inflammation in the lungs).  The chronic inflammation of the tissue does have the effect of changing the tissue structure, and in essence causing the mutations to occur from the constant injury to the lung tissue.

Without going into the heavy science of DNA and RNA, suffice it to say that this double helix of coded information are in constant motion recombining their genetic expressions, and when we are sick or bombarded by toxins in our food, water, and environment, the immune system has to jump into fight mode from these assaults, leaving the double helix to recombine on its own, defenseless from a mistake in coding.  While the immune system is off fighting a common cold, chickenpox, measles, or a number of other diseases.  It’s when these recombination’s make an error, and buddy up with the wrong partner that a mutation occurs, and usually the immune system will take care of it, but if it’s overwhelmed, it won’t catch some of the miscodes.  Every cell, every structure, organ have within themselves all the cellular material, the nucleus is embedded into every tiny cellular structure, and has this replication process going on, that is why we can evolve cancers in a number of places within the bodies organs.  Especially, in tissues that change constantly.  That is why people with AIDS have so many different types of cancers, because their immune systems are no longer functioning properly, or at all.  I plan to go into more details in part II of my series on “The Answer to Cancer.”

Stay tuned for Part II of ”The Answer To Cancer.”

“I hypothesize on these matters, as I am not replacing medical science or your primary doctor.  I am solely suggesting out loud my views from my educational background, things I’ve read, and questions I’ve asked.  None of which bare any resemblance to advisement.  I leave that to the medical establishment.  I just want to write-out-loud my views, in order that I might connect some of the dots!”

Your comments from your experiences, education, and explorations into Cancer, are more than welcome!  Maybe together we can all connect more dots.

If You Cluck Like a Chicken, or Lay Eggs, Don’t Be Surprised!!!

To make a vaccine, you need a live cell or host.   They use a variety of mediums:  Monkeys for polio vaccine, mice brains for rabies vaccine, chicken embryos for flu,  yellow fever vaccines, and MMR,  Gardasil vaccine for HPV.  When you incubate a virus in a live cell, for example, a chicken.  Then they extract the viruses, and put it through a  filtering process, everything bigger than the virus passes through the filter, leaving the virus and anything smaller than that is left  behind!!!!   That is part of what is in our vaccines, plus, the additives that man puts in, formalin to kill or deadend a virus strain, and accelerants, to stimulate your immune system when they inject it into you.  They wonder why there is ASIAN FLU??? SWINE FLU????  They use the  animals and all their DNA,  we now share DNA with our cultured cousins.

As a nurse, I wonder constantly,  how these  horrible  afflictions have taken over my patients lives that I have cared for, and I know many more people who exist and have had their lives ruined from the devastations of cancers, children’s  leukemia, paralysis, Alzheimer’s/dementia, MS, MD, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Huntington’s Disease, and many more.

Who can you trust????

They tell me “You Don’t Get Sick From the Vaccine!”    The Medical establishment, the one we have all have grown to trust and put all our faith in, tells us this.  I want to say “How is it that you believe this, if you are an Educated Medical Doctor, or Nurse Practitioner…how then do you really stand there and say to me  ” You Don’t Get Sick From the Vaccines!?”

Not only do they give you all the ”Rubbish”  from the Chickens, monkeys, mice, horses, pigs, and whatever else they get their hands on to grow the viruses in, but then they add “THE FILLERS!!!”

List of the Vaccine Fillers.  This concoction is officially administered by design with every vaccine provided to the public -

In addition to the viral and bacterial RNA or DNA that is part of the vaccines, here are the fillers:
aluminum hydroxide
aluminum phosphate
ammonium sulfate
amphotericin B
animal tissues: pig blood, horse blood, rabbit brain,
dog kidney, monkey kidney,
chick embryo, chicken egg, duck egg
calf (bovine) serum

What is the biggest hurdle faced in rapid vaccine production?

Was a recent question posed on “Vaccines Development Forum” by: Jennifer Pereira, Associate Online Producer at Institute for International Research from linkedin. My response to the forum question above is in the following:

“Hurdles and Rapid,” are scary connotations for something that is being produced and injected into living human beings! First the government and pharmaceutical companies need to slow down. Think if it is best for the host to come down with the influenza virus, and go through the illness, versus getting inocculated by a speeded production of accelerant treated live attenuated, or a weakend/ or deadend virus? To incoroporate it into a viable option (vaccine) there is not enough time to produce a well designed product, when time is of the essence. Testing in humans that are desperate for money due to living conditions that don’t afford them the luxury to choose, promises to irradicate a lowly population, or keep them weighing down our health care system when they fall apart from the vaccine being tested on them.

Unfortunately, with government and National Institutes of health continually hiding really serious information from the public about the cosequences of these fast tracked vaccine campaigns; we will not be safe from a vaccination program until the drama and the junk is removed from the development of these vaccines. Appropriately grown in the proper mediums for human consumption or alternative methods that are evolving in technology may be a better alternative, and remove the risk of sharing animal DNA.

For all intensive purposes, anytime you grow a live virus in a live animal that is being used as “the medium” to grow the virus; then you remove it and try as you may to get rid of the genetic material, bacteria, viruses normal for the species of that medium, and the other stuff from the animal, for the making of this one viral strain, and put into a human vaccination program, seems rather reckless at best. This has been a ludicrous vaccination program campaign. As if the vaccinations previously, being the actual culprits to begin with: “Homeless people die after bird flu vaccine trial in Poland
Three Polish doctors and six nurses are facing criminal prosecution after a number of homeless people died following medical trials for a vaccine to the H5N1 bird-flu virus.”

What I have learned about vaccine production: They incubate viruses and bacteria within the cells of live animals (African Green Monkeys, chicken embryos, mice brains, and more.) Then learning that after the viruses and bacteria are cultured inside the cells of these animals, the developers of the vaccines decide whether it will be a live vaccine, or a deadend vaccine. If they deadend or weaken the vaccine, they have to pass it through viable tissue to weakend the vaccine.
Quoted from “What is in a Vaccine?” Shauna Wood
“…A simple look at the making of a vaccine. In general there are two major types of vaccines: those made of bacteria and those made of viruses. Vaccines are further distinguished as being live or dead. Dead vaccines are inactivated through heat, radiation or chemicals. Before a live vaccine is deemed suitable for human use it must be weakened. This is done by serial passage. This means that the vaccine is passed through viable tissue several times (sometimes as many as fifty times) to reduce it’s potency. Many different species may be used for this purpose; monkeys, chick embryos and even surgically aborted human fetuses are used. Once the virus is weaker it must be strengthened with disinfectants and stabilizers such as but not limited to streptomycin, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, aluminum, hydrochloride, sorbitol, hydrolyzed gelatin, formaldehyde and thimerosal a mercury derivative.”

The Days of “Typhoid Mary: “THE MOST DANGEROUS WOMAN IN THE KITCHEN”

Typhoid Mary in a 1909 newspaper illustration

Typhoid Mary in a 1909 newspaper illustration

In the early 1900′s Mary Mallon, was an Irish lady that came from harsh existence, arrived in america all on her own. She found jobs as a cook for the wealthy, and moved to different homes during the time she spent in New York’s lower eastside. She  also worked for the wealthy in Mamaroneck, Manhattan, and Long Island, New York.

The conditions in those days were ‘slum like.” New York City, was at the time considered ” The Most Crowded City in the World”. Transportation was by horse, and if you can imagine, a city with no fresh water, very poor sanitation, and overpopulation~the stench, must have been on the scale of extreme. Horses crowded the streets and so did their manure. A horse can produce 20 to 30 pounds of manure a day. Multiply that times a couple  thousand horses that traveled the streets in the 1800s and early 1900′s, and multiply that by 365 days per year, for a  few years, that’s a lot of poop.

When some people came down with Typhoid Fever, it was perplexing and brought attention to some bacteriologist in the day. Of course, thinking that it had something to do with the sanitation issues, they were not able to find the source until one day a fella by the name of George Sober, sunk his teeth into the problem and would not let go until he found out why some people would come down with this disease. He went to the home of the most recent afflicted household. Interviewed everyone, and did his process of elimination, and was stumped. He questioned  the family, if there had been anyone else that he was missing that summer that the infection was present. The  family mentioned that there had been a cook, named Mary Mallon.

He then sought her out. When he found her, he asked to have samples of her urine and feces, she adamantly refused! I can understand her anger, in those days a position as a cook was a good gig to get, and made better  money than most other household staff. Being accused of possibly infecting families that she worked for, was cause for becoming quite defensive. He attempted on other occasions, but she chased him off with threatening language, until one day…The Sanitation Department /Department of Health came to the City Slums and cleaned up. The New Department of Public Health lived by the motto ” Cleanliness was next to godliness” The team of  Public Health officials always wore white. The streets were cleaned of horse manure, and the city was under new rules. People with infectious diseases were hauled off to ” Plague Island” / ” North Brother Island” until they were no longer infected with whatever disease that brought them there.

Mary had been tested, and was postive for the bacterium. They sent her to the Island, where she remained for a couple of years, until a new Health Minister heard her case, and felt sorry for her, and agreed that she didn’t need to be on that Island as long as she never worked as a cook again. Mary didn’t understand infectious disease, and how she may have infected the families that she worked for. She was released, and was suppose to check in with the Public Health Department so that they could keep tabs on her. The Department of Public Health eventually, lost her whereabouts. Until a hospital in New York had doctors, nurses, and patients that were coming down with the typhoid fever. The Department of Health recruited the biologist George Sober to investigate how these cases evolved. That is when he learned that Mary was there! That was it for Mary and her freedom. They put her back on North Brother Island, where she remained for the rest of her days.

History of North Brother Island:

North Brother Island, a 13 acre piece of history laying just southwest of Hunts Point in the East River, it is a  remnant of a long-forgotten time in New York. It is now a Bird sanctuary. The clocks on North Brother stopped around 1962 when the city pulled the plug on Riverside Hospital, the main attraction on the island and a storied institution that opened in 1886; it was a place to quarantine New Yorker’s who suffered from potentially deadly and easily communicable diseases such as typhus, smallpox, and tuberculosis. To keep them isolated from the rest of the population. Years later it housed drug addicts until the 1960s. The island gained notoriety in the early 1900′s as the involuntary home of ” Typhoid” Mary Mallon, a carrier of typhus who was allegedly responsible for 3 deaths and 47 illnesses from 1907-1915.

Remember this:  Typhoid Fever is a bacterium, and still exists.  You have to be careful, as it is a bacteria that is found on unheated food items, if it has been contaminated.  3rd World Countries continue to warn about the disease.  Here is a good video.

“The Fly!” The Movie is a Great Example of Vaccines!

~The Fly~ The Movie, is a great example of what I think of the Worlds Vaccination Programs, now that I have learned the truth of how they are made, where they incubate, and what ingredients are used to make them powerful. Until vaccines are made in a pure state, and not in an animal, and not with toxic drugs and chemicals; there will never be a safe vaccine.

The actor, Jeff Goldblum depicts an incredible premise in this science fiction movie. This is a great illustration of of how Vaccines work within our bodies(that nobody ever told us.) In the movie, Jeff portrays a mad scientist. He has invented teleportation. However, things go wrong, and when he gets into the pod, a fly enteres the chamber with him. After the teleportation is complete, Jeff Goldblum/Brundle a.k.a the mad scientist, starts to notice changes in his physiology. There was a sharing of DNA within the Teleportation. It’s a good movie, and very creepy. Science Fiction and real life seem to be crossing lines…concepts of imagination are evolving into reality more than we think.

This time, the government has already taken steps “Granting Their Immunity.” Vaccine makers and federal officials will be immune from lawsuits that result from any new swine flu vaccine.

Learning all that I have thus far about how Vaccines are made; I am dumbfounded. Big Pharma: Novartis, and many others that are located in foreign countries, like India, china, Jordan. The government, WHO, big pharma. Literally, incubate viruses and bacteria within the cells of live animals (African Green Monkeys, chicken embryos, mice brains, and more.) Then learning that after the viruses and bacteria are cultured inside the cells of these animals, the developers of the vaccines decide whether it will be a live vaccine, or a deadend vaccine.
